The position

An Email Designer will be integral to Colewood’s creative department. You will establish an initial creative direction in collaboration with our clients, craft compelling designs that marry the customers’ brand voices with our email design philosophy, and develop, test and troubleshoot those designs in accordance with best practices for correct inbox rendering. You’ll work to create an overall experience that instills confidence in our professional services expertise and sets the customer up for success in sending effective emails through our platforms.

This position is located in Stockton-on-Tees, UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of their own design projects - assets, time, efficiency, and deadlines
  • Customer communication from initial design consultancy to post-project troubleshooting
  • Designing emails, graphics and other assets related to our bespoke email services or internal projects
  • Developing emails and templates using frameworks such as ZURB
  • Testing and troubleshooting your own HTML, CSS, and platform-specific markup

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite & Sketch
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, Sass/Less
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to clearly articulate design decisions to clients
  • Excellent organisational skills (file & project archiving)
  • Keen critical thinking and troubleshooting skills (particularly in HTML & CSS for email)
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and multi-task several projects in any given day
  • Proficient at using a Mac/Apple software

Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of terminal, Git & npm
  • Ideally experience working in the e-commerce, marketing sector
  • Ability to use and understand Google Analytics
  • Knowledge or background of UX/UI principles & systems
